In November, Converse County voters will be asked if they wish to continue the "one cent" for another four years.  For every dollar of the purchases that you make, one penny of the sales tax goes to this optional tax. Community & City Services have depended on the optional penny sales tax include:

  • Boys & Girls Club
  • Paving, Repair & General Street Maintenance
  • Park Improvements & Maintenance
  • Wyoming Child & Family Development
  • Converse Hope Center
  • Street Replacement Projects
  • Fire Vehicles
  • Animal Shelter Operations
  • Douglas Youth Hockey
  • Douglas Youth Recreation
  • Solutions for Life
  • Children’s Advocacy Project
  • Senior Citizen’s Center
  • Downtown Enhancements
  • School Resource Officers
  • Helping Hands
  • Pool Improvements & Maintenance
  • Picnic Shelters
  • Bridge Repair
  • Police Equipment
  • Head Start Programs
  • Douglas Community Club
  • The Enterprise
  • Visitor Center
  • Railroad Interpretative Center
  • Community Garden
  • Main Street Douglas
  • Tree City USA
  • Human Resource Council
  • Other vital organizations county wide!
    Without this source of general fund revenue, many of these programs and projects would not have been possible over the last 30+ years.
