Wyoming Community Gas Grant Program applications are now available at City Hall. Qualifying projects are Arts & Culture and Community Improvement. Grant funds cannot be used for operations, salaries, or to supplement the general fund. Grant monies must be used within one year of receipt. Qualifying agencies who can apply for these grants include governmental entities and agencies and organizations exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. If a charitable organization wishes to apply, it must be in full compliance with all federal, state, and local laws or regulations. The project must address community-related issues in communities in the Wyoming Choice Gas program area, which Douglas is. Grants will not be given to individuals, individual pre-college school, or individual pre-college school foundations. They also will not generally be given to private foundations, tax-supported organizations or churches/religious groups except for programs/projects that broadly benefit the community. Grants must be postmarked by January 31, 2019 in order to be considered.
