I hear there have been changes to the city's contractor licensing requirements. What's different?
If you own either residential or commercial property, you will now be able to personally perform building repair and maintenance without a licensed contractor. If you are currently a licensed contractor with the City of Douglas, or practice a construction trade as your business or occupation, nothing has changed. You are still required to obtain a contractor's license, unless you are employed by a city licensed contractor and work under that person's supervision.
